Bringing more smiles to San Marcos residents has become an annual tradition.
Dr. J. Robert Donnelly of San Marcos Gentle Dental will host ‘Dentistry From The Heart Event’ on Friday, Feb. 6.
San Marcos adults will have the opportunity to get free dental work done. Some of the dental work includes free extractions, fillings and cleanings.
This is the second year that Gentle Dental has participated in the event and last year they saw over 75 people and worked on over $26,000 worth of dentistry that day.
Representative from Gentle Dental Margaret Benner says registration for free dental work begins at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, but a line begins forming at around four, or five in the morning. Benner wants to remind people that in order to qualify for the free dental work they must over the age of 18 and be able to prove that and no additional documentation is needed.
Dentistry From The Heart began in 2001 with Dr. Vincent Monticciolo of Tampa, Florida as a way to give back to his community and provide assistance to the growing number of Americans without dental insurance. There are currently over 200 annual events around the nation and the world and it is estimated that over 80,000 people have been helped.
If you are interested in volunteering at the event on Friday you can call San Marcos Gentle Dental at 512-396-5225, or you can go to their website www.sanmarcosdental.com and send them an email. You can also make a monetary donation to Gentle Dental, if you contact them.
