It’s time for me to let you all in on a little secret. One of my dreams is to be able to do a handstand. While, yes, that is actually a no longer “secret” dream of mine, that’s not what I’m here to tell you.
This summer, July 10 to be exact, I will be traveling to Cambodia for one month to volunteer alongside people from all over the world to work at an elephant sanctuary. Located near the town of Sen Monorom, the Elephant Valley Project will be the primary location for my volunteering where I will assist in bathing and feeding the elephants among other duties. During my month of volunteering, I will also get to experience some of the local culture including visiting the temples of Angkor Wat, viewing Apsara dancing traditions and roaming the local markets.
If it wasn’t for EDventure International, I wouldn’t be able to experience this amazing opportunity. EDventure International is a nongovernmental international volunteer organization that aims at helping local communities in Thailand, Cambodia, Costa Rica and South Africa. I’m so excited to be going on this journey, while getting to share many of my experiences abroad with you!
I’ll be sure to share with you what I’m doing as best as I can, so stay tuned for updates!
